Case # 1:Stuck Keys
Occurance: During boot-up or operation
Possible Cause: Lack of Maintenance
1. Turn of the unit's power.
2. Detach the keyboard from CPU.
3. Use tool to detach cap of stuck keys.
4 Remove accumulated dirt from the surface of the cap and spring case.
5. Press the spring case for several times untol you fell it becomes looser.
6. Reassemble parts.
7. Turn unit on and check if it's now functioning well.
8. If not, it might be a bad key.
Case # 2:No Power/Blackout KeyboardOccurance: During boot-up or operation
Possible Cause: Improper connections, defective keyboard
1. Turn of the unit's power.
2. Detach the keyboard from CPU.
3. Check all the pins of the keyboard plug.
4. Reattach keyboard to CPU.
5. Check again by pressing NUM,CAPS and SCROLL LOCK or by typing in the prompt.
6. If still not OK,do steps 1 to 5 and check it using another unit.
Case # 3: Keyboard producing different characterOccurance: During operation
Possible Cause: Improper connections, adjustment setup,defective keyboard
1. Do step 1 to 5 the previous case (Keyboard Case # 2).
2. Try checking the CTRL and ALT keys by pressing if for several times . These keys might be stucked thus,producing different characters.
3. Check for possible virus infection using a boot disk. Always scan all files.
4. If problem persist, you may try consulting the documentation of the currect program that you are running for keyboard setup. Say,the CONFIG.SYS file of DOS or the LANGUAGE SETTING of the keyboard in the Control Pannel of the Window Program. Specification on both cases must be using United States (English).
5. If still the same problem, it might be a shorted keyboard.
Case # 4: Major Physical Keyboards DefectsOccurance: Anytime
Possible Cause: Mishandling,lack of maintenance
1. Consult a technician for final option
2. Replace the keyboard with a new one if the cost of repairing it is no longer practical
